Maybe you're out of town on business and just don't feel yourself behind the wheel of a Grand Cherokee. You are already missing your Hummer, back home at the airport parking lot. You need to find an exotic car rental agency.
For that special occasion, the proposal, the big grand opening, opening night at the theater-when only arriving in a Porche will make the right statement, you need an exotic car rental. After all, you've bought the ring, you've rented the tux, why not rent your ride to match?
If you've ever taken a cruise or spent a weekend at an expensive golf resort and thought you'd rather be doing something else, like winding along coast or mountain highways with the throbbing sensation of power and superb handling that only a fine sports car can deliver, you need an exotic car rental. And it won't cost any more than that vacation you didn't enjoy nearly as much.
Most major cities have exotic car rental agencies with a wide range of makes and models, but dealers in smaller cities may also have demonstrators for rent. The daily rental rates average about one percent of the sticker price on the car, per day, about what you would pay for a luxury hotel room or a stateroom on a cruise. Of course, the availability of an exotic car rental depends on your age and driving record, to an even greater extent than with a standard car rental, and the insurance coverages will be much higher.
The distinction between a luxury car and an exotic car is somewhat a matter of taste: luxury cars are made for comfort and dependability as well as power. Exotic cars are built for performance-speed and handling, or, like the Hummer, the ability to go almost anywhere on or off road, in style. Your exotic car rental will not only outperform everything below its class on the road, but the same attention to detail in the engineering and construction extends to the accessories and appointments. If you drive one at home, why settle for less when you are traveling?
If you are interested in an exotic car rental to fulfill a dream or just to experience how the "other side" lives, be prepared for a surprise, or a steep learning curve. These cars are characterized by two things: power and responsiveness. Most have in excess of 400 horsepower, for quick acceleration and high top speed, and the steering and suspension to keep controllable at high speed. For an enjoyable experience, make sure your driving skills are up to the challenge, and drive responsibly.

The engine which runs this auto is a powerful V6 3.5 Ltr with 271 hp and 254 lb feet of torque. This vehicle accelerates from zero to sixty in just 7.5 seconds and can reach the quarter mile in 15.5 seconds. In terms of fuel economy, it gets around 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the freeway. The drive is enjoyable and smooth, merging is a cinch due to the horsepower, plus the cabin remains quiet even at fast speeds.
Features Include a power moon roof, adjustable front seats, a stereo system with a cd changer and a dual zone climate control. The more upscale EX-L model adds on a steering wheel wrapped in slick leather, temperature controlled front seats and seamless integration with Bluetooth smart phones. An optional navigation system can be added at an additional cost which includes voice recognition and the ability to receive up to date traffic and weather updates. Trunk space is at 25.7 cubic ft which can be expanded to 51.3 cubic feet if the back seats are folded down. A really cool and nifty feature is the hidden and removable utility box right under the cargo floor which can be used to store extra items.
Honda engineers included numerous safeguards in order to ensure the safety of all passengers. The Vehicle Stability Assist system automatically adjusts pressure of the brakes in order to regain control during oversteering or understeering situations. The ABS system works to maintain control when you brake hard plus a Tire Pressure Monitoring system lets you know when your tire pressure is under or over inflated. Engineers also included Honda's Advanced Compatibility Engineering structure which works to distribute impact force over a larger area during an accident and away from passengers. There are also front, side and curtain airbags in place plus with active head restraints which protect against whiplash occurrences.
Honda's 2010 Crosstour would be smart choice for anyone looking for a vehicle with a clever place to store additional items and a plethora of amenities for your comfort. It offers the adaptability of a wagon and sedan in one clever package. Pricing starts at around $29k, which is in the high end for an Accord but in return, the Crosstour offers additional items not found in the regular Accord lineup.

Imports finally had a chance to fit into the performance scene. Most already came with smaller engines now needed to pass emissions. Many imports also had turbos which allowed for easy power improvements. Nissan had the 300 ZX 240sx and the Datsun 240, 260, 280 z and 280zx which were good starting platforms for performance. Mazda had the rx7 which was a very light car with a high power rotary engine. The 323gtx was also a fun tunable car. Mazda also came out with the Miata at the end of the decade.
Toyota made the Celica and the supra which both performed well and could be heavily modified. Toyota also made the mid engine MR-2 which performed well. Honda made the prelude and the crx which used light weight cars to perform.

The new BMW X3 2011 is the successor to a bestseller, setting the same high standards as the first generation of the BMW X3 launched in 2004. Its success had already been previously substantiated with the concept utilised for the BMW X5. This concept encompassed the development of all-terrain models with a clear orientation towards driving dynamics, thereby establishing the Sports Activity Vehicle category. Its exceptionally agile handling and the superior characteristics of the intelligent four-wheel drive concept xDrive have also rendered the BMW X3 a pioneer in its class and a global bestseller, the production of which ended after the sale of 614,824 units.

The lasting popularity is also reflected in the outstanding public survey results: Twice in succession, the BMW X3 was voted both "All-terrain Car of the Year" and "Off Road Vehicle of the Year" in 2006 and 2007 respectively by readers of the magazines "Auto Bild Allrad" and "Off Road". Moreover, independent experts have bestowed several awards on the vehicle for outstanding safety, customer satisfaction, reliability and stable value, including top rankings in the breakdown statistics published by the Allgemeine Deutsche Automobilclub (ADAC).

In this day and age, the majority of people over seventeen are able to drive and many are lucky enough to have their own vehicles. However, not all of us will drive for the same reasons... Now, this may sound a little strange to begin with, but why not take a moment to think about it. Just how many years have you held your licence for? And do you still get as much enjoyment from being behind the wheel as you did when you had first passed your test?
In actual fact, there are different types of driving and different types of drivers. Some of us will love to go for a spin in our car (or van) whilst others simply dread making a long and boring journey. And this is nothing to do with the expense of keeping a vehicle either; we may all be legally required to have Road Tax, a valid MOT certificate and car/van insurance, but some of us will not mind having to pay for these at all. For those of us with a genuine passion for driving, these fees are worth every penny. And that is simply because the enjoyment factor of driving far outweighs the cost!
The two main types of driver are –
· Those who drive because they have to.
For some people, a vehicle is essential for getting to and from work; or they may even drive for a living!
This type of driver will often only view their vehicle as a necessary piece of machinery and, as a consequence, many of these people will no longer get any great pleasure from driving. These are the kind of drivers that you will hear complaining about the price of their car or van insurance...
However, this is a real shame. Driving is obviously meant to be useful, but it is also supposed to be fun!
· Those who drive because they enjoy it.
There are others (thankfully) who drive for the absolute joy of it! Even if they have to make the same old journey day in and day out, they will still get plenty of enjoyment simply from being behind the wheel!
The satisfying change of gears, the power beneath your right foot and the genuine pleasure of taking a tight corner ‘just right’; there are certainly plenty of reasons to enjoy going for a spin in your vehicle.
But the truth is that most of us will vary with how we feel about driving from one day to the next... Sometimes driving will be an absolute chore and on other occasions it can be fun, pleasurable and relaxing. It will all depend on where we are going, whether or not we are late and if we are looking forward to arriving at our actual destination! You could see it all as a bit of a ‘glass half full/glass half empty’ scenario... Our perception of the driving experience will have a very large effect on whether we actually get anything positive from it or not!

Porsche has confirmed on Wednesday that it will build the Porsche 918 Spyder, initially gone public earlier this year as a concept at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show. The German automaker said the production version of the high-performance hybrid will be assembled in limited numbers at its home plant in Zuffenhausen, just outside Stuttgart. An official statement released Wednesday said the company has received an "overwhelming response" from the public to the Porsche 918 Spyder concept. Earlier reports indicated Porsche had received expressions of interest from more than 900 buyers. Porsche did not specify a production start-up date or a price tag, although widespread media reports in Europe have suggested the sticker could exceed $600,000.

2011 Mustang GT: Prototype CAI & Dyno Tune – Huge Power Gains!
0 comments Posted by samuel at 8:41 PMOur 2011 5.0L Mustang GT, a Prototype CAI, and the Bama Custom Tuning Team
Within 24 hours of taking possession of our 2011, we turned our Bama Custom Tuning division loose on some exclusive prototypes for upgrades to see what performance gains they could squeeze out of the GT. With a custom tune developed on our dyno and an exclusive new CAI prototype from C&L Performance, we were able to feed our need for speed. Read more and watch the video at blog.americanmuscle.com/2011-mustang-gt-prototype-cai-dyno-tune-huge-power-gains/.
Here’s a summary of our chassis dyno testing:
* Stock – no modifications: 363RWHP / 331RWTQ
* Factory tune, Prototype C&L cold air intake: 374RWHP / 338RWTQ
* Bama Custom Tune, stock Airbox: 379RWHP / 357RWTQ
* Bama Custom Tune, Prototype C&L cold air intake: 385RWHP / 362RWTQ
2011 Mustang GT 5.0L owners can expect a nice performance bump from just a tune alone. These numbers rival the high output of the SVT Performance group’s Supercharged 2003-2004 Cobra and various other high performance models from Ford’s Specialty Vehicles Team. Camaros and Challengers, watch out! With a Bama Tune installed, the new 5.0L has become the leader of the pack!
In addition to the rear wheel horsepower and torque gains, drivers will experience better throttle response, faster/firmer shifting, and an overall increase in driveability. These hot new calibrations are available immediately, exclusively from AmericanMuscle.com. Final production versions of the C&L cold air intake will be ready to purchase from AmericanMuscle before the end of summer, 2010. Stay tuned for more exclusive prototype test results and footage!
